The growth of kayak fishing is evident in all parts of the world and shown by Portugal's First Kayak Fishing Tournament. The Tournament took place on the Guadiana River. The event had 44 participants and was organized on the Portugal Kayak Fishing Forums. Unfortunately, the event was hindered by bad weather and uncooperative bass but it did nothing to dampen the good times had by all. The kayaks used by most of the participants were Malibu or Ocean Kayak and the full gambit of rigging options from depth finders to outriggers were seen. This event also kicked off the Portugal Kayak Fishing Association, the club promises more events and gathering in the future. |
