 Easley, S.C. (August 6, 2008) – Wilderness Systems Tarpon, the ultimate, all-around, sit on top kayak series, receives a major redesign for the 2009 season. Every detail has been painstakingly overhauled for improved performance, comfort and rigging capability. The Tarpon series offers the ultimate in luxury sit on top performance.

The redesigned boats show a consistency in hull design for the 100, 120, 140 and 160. Notably, they each feature bow lift enhancements for gliding through the surf and significantly increased tankwell sizes. Extensive outfitting and deck innovations improve the total paddling experience for anglers and non-anglers alike.

 

Features of the Redesigned Tarpon Models:

  • Tarpon 100 – The Tarpon 100 offers excellent glide and maneuverability for a small boat, but does not sacrifice any comfort.
    • Increased tankwell size

    • New outfitting: hinged hatch covers, Phase 3 SOT seat, SlideTrax, bungee paddle holder and molded-in mesh gear pockets

  • Tarpon 120 – An incredibly versatile sit on top, the Tarpon 120 offers extensive performance capabilities to any sized paddler, plus sufficient room for their gear.

    • Rudder, angler and angler with rudder models also available

  • Tarpon 140 – The Tarpon 140 is the number one fisherman’s model on the market for good reason. For 2009, we’ve enhanced its finest qualities,

ensuring its position as the ideal kayak for coastal paddling and casual touring.
