Seattle, Wash., Jul 29, 2013 -
Nikwax has launched a new and vastly improved concentrated version of its Cotton Proof product to waterproof all your cotton clothes and equipment.

Easy to use in a washing machine at home, Nikwax Cotton Proof makes cotton fabric water repellent, keeping you warmer and drier when caught out in the rain.

With nearly 200-percent more dosage value, the new Cotton Proof is an exceptional value with per-garment proofing as low as $1.50. And the new Cotton Proof formula has exceptionally improved performance, achieving an ISO spray rating of 80, even after 30 minutes of sustained rain, or four washes with Nikwax Tech Wash. No doubt about it: New Cotton Proof is a sensible, affordable, outstanding waterproofing solution for those who work and play outdoors.

When it rains, cotton and cotton-blend fabrics normally absorb a considerable amount of water and become wet, heavy, and cold. From cotton duck workwear to those regrettable skinny jeans, a simple application of Nikwax Cotton Proof will add Durable Water Repellency, reducing water absorption, speeding up drying time, and keeping you a lot more comfortable.

Nikwax founder, Nick Brown said, "We've all been caught in the rain and had to endure being cold and the restriction of movement that comes with soaked fabric. It's not pleasant! Nikwax Cotton Proof helps to keep you comfortable for longer, even if you forget your rainwear."

Cotton Proof has been specifically designed to treat cotton and polycotton fabrics. It leaves a flexible water repellent treatment on the fabric fibers allowing air and moisture vapor to pass through, leaving your clothes fully breathable, water-repellent and less water-absorbent.

As you would expect, Nikwax always puts consumer safety first. Nikwax is the only established aftercare company on the market never to have used fluorocarbons (PFCs) or aerosols. Nikwax Cotton Proof has been developed to the same high safety standards as all Nikwax products.

New Nikwax Cotton Proof will be available in 100ml pouches for $4.99 MSRP and 300ml bottles for $12.99 MSRP. One pouch will proof two garments. Cotton Proof will be available at outdoor specialty retail stores and on nikwax.com beginning January 1, 2014.
