The best yak for you is the one you are comfortable in and can effectively more through the water when things are dicey. After all, when the water is glass and you are feeling strong you can adequately paddle most things to arrive safely at your destination. I have caught lots of fish from my T13 and find that it moves through the water with relative ease, whether I've been porpoising through the swells or swiftly heading to the next spot to fish. I have found it performs well on the salt - where I have done most of my catching. My model is an older one with some flaws... Rod pod lid is weak (which has been addressed)... It lacks good places to mount forward rod holders... But I think these couple of deficiencies are inconsequential compared to the other strengths. While their are other yaks I would love to own, I don't know that I would ever surrender my T13. It is a great fresh and saltwater fishing platform.

This is the second season for my Trident 13 and I love it! I usually fish it on calmer waters, but have been caught in some very rough water a couple of times and it handled great. A very stable craft, will really move when you want it to, and tracks true. This kayak was made to fish, it is easy to rig and mod. There is more than enough storage for a weekend trip and I love that rod pod. I'll be buying a second Trident this summer.

This may be the perfect fishing kayak. It's plenty quick, just a little slower than my buddies 15 footer. It's stable enough for me to stand comfortably in flat water. It turns well and tracks well, which is always a hard balance to reach. The stowage is spectacular, so much that I stopped carrying a milk crate. The rod pod works VERY well, and I often would carry all my stuff inside the boat to the launch. The scupper mounts for the transducer give a clearer picture than the traditional way of mounting it inside the boat, plus the water temp readings are accurate.

I can't think of anything to change in this boat. Great job, Ocean Kayak!

I am new to yak fishing and have had this boat about 3 months. So far I like it very much. It is stable, easy to rig, light and quick. I would recommend it to others. I've fished with it in farm ponds, lakes and the Bouge Sound and had no problems. I've been bass fishing over 20 years but always from a jon boat. I like this kayak very much.
