Report: This has been our best fishing in the area for April in the last 5 years despite the unstable weather. We are taking some huge Largemouth Bass in the 4-5 pound range using wacky worms, flukes, and jerk baits. The catfish bite is still incredible mostly at night using shad gizzards, sides, and shrimp. The Walleye are finishing up their spawn on the rocks at most dams in area reservoirs and many range 7-8 pounds. Jerk baits are working well for the Walleye. There’s lots of pan fishing going on and Bluegills or Crappies are easily caught on small jigs. The Wipers will soon hit the shores as we get those strong spring southerly winds. You can bet these huge wipers will be in the surf soon. We usually paddle out to a point and cast into the wind with our large bucktail jigs. You do get wet but its fun and well worth it! Here are Kayakjak Outfitters we are offering a 2 for 1 spring special on fishing trips. We take great pride in offering the lowest prices for fully guided trips and shore meals. Also, don’t forget we are hosting the third annual Kayakjak Fishing tournament on June 6th at Rock Creek Lake where the Largemouth Bass are starting to look like they swallowed bowling balls! These trout fed bass are growing at a rapid rate and are a lot of fun to catch! Here is a link to our website: http://www.kayakjak.com/fishing we also rent kayaks at a very low rate! Come on out and visit us this spring or summer!
