Report: Finally spring weather is heating up. The bite is just getting good again. There's a lot of bait all ready moving in to the ledges and it looks like it will be a good year for the kawa kawa and the aku. When the skip jacks move into the area the marlin follow. Already on the north shore there has been a few big pacific blues caught. Kayak anglers in the islands have been scoring some nice fish. Some decent ono have been caught and a few mahi have taken baits. The spring tides are sporting some big spikes creating good currents on the ledges and bringing food to the surface. Lately we have taken some good jacks and a few cudas. The weather has been nice with lots of sun and not much wind. For the month of May we expect the fishing to get even better with bigger catch reports. Right now I am in the blue marlin capital of the world Kona. We are here fishing the spring Yak Attack. For sure there will be some awesome kayak fish caught. Check back next month for the full Kona report. Also new for Coastal Kayak Tours is our sparkly new web site. For 2009 we are offering some different island tour locations. Check us out at www.coastalkayaktours.com if you have not fished in Hawaii yet what are you waiting for?
