Chris and Heather Judkins sent us this report from their weekend. Nice fish, nice action shot, nice report, and nice husband and wife effort! Chris and Heather have been selected as the winner of the Bending Branches hat/shirt/sticker package. Here are a few pics from our trip on the 4th of July. I took my wife down the Padre Island National Seashore for her first fishing trip beyond the breakers. Conditions were beautiful, surf was 1 foot or less. I trolled for kings while my wife fished for snapper. She got a few surprises as a couple of sharks were after her fish a few times. I caught some nice snapper on my king fish rigs (trolling ribbon fish) when I would take breaks from trolling. Water was so clear I could see the snapper come up to about 20-30 feet and take the ribbon fish as it sank when I stopped. It was nice having my fishing partner along to snap photos. She usually just fishes the flats with me but with the conditions so nice, she wanted to try the gulf. She got some great action shots of me with one of the kings. We did pretty good for the day, brought home 7 snapper total (Texas state waters). Released all the other fish caught that day. Looking forward to the next trip.
Special mention goes to Joe Underwood who sent the following: Here is a picture of Wyatt's big ol' pig from this weekend from a kayak - Hope you enjoy it as much as I did. He said "that's the biggest fish in the lake Dad". Haha. Caught on a 5" Sick Stick from PowerTeam Lures.
And another shoutout goes to Matt Tiffany of Georgia who caught this nice bass "25 feet of hot southern GA water".
