Paddle and Trail to Host "River Bassin Tournament" on July 28, 2012 E-mail
Thursday, 26 July 2012 08:57
The River Bassin Tournament will be a unique conservation minded, paddle-powered or shoreline only fishing event, with a catch-measure-photo-release format that promotes sustainability within the environment.

Anglers can fish in rivers or streams throughout Northern Illinois beginning at dawn the day of the tournament, and simply take a photo of their catch on a standard measuring board provided to all anglers. After taking the photo they release the fish back into the water for future generations to enjoy.

An $1100 Jackson Coosa Kayak will be presented as the grand prize along with over $1500 in CASH and PRIZES including door prizes, and awards for all divisions including teams, youth, and individual anglers. Boats are available for rent from Paddle and Trail, but if you purchase a fishing kayak from Paddle and Trail prior to the tournament, Paddle and Trail will pay your individual angler registration fee ($55 value)!  Anglers must register for the tournament in advance to receive the measuring board and event specific icon to be included in each photo, so register today!
