Quick Release Anchor System for the Kayak E-mail

This nifty quick release anchor system allows you to unhook your anchor with one had and fight the fish. The float keeps your line in sight for easy retrieval after you get your fish.

I use a full length anchor trolley and I run my anchor line through a fixed, welded ring. I use a downrigger ball as my anchor, and your quick release idea is terrific for those times when I'm hooked up to the occasional large bat ray. I've historically fought the fish with one arm, and yarded up the anchor with the other. Cumbersome to say the least, and our system solves that. Thanks for the inspiration.

Austin Kayak has their own pulley system for cheap, including flushmount pulleys, ring and paracord. The pulleys look just like Rob's. I installed some recently on my kayak and it works great.
