Perception Search 13 with rudder

2008 Perception Search 13 Angler - with rudder.

I have only been fishing for a couple of years now and this was my second kayak. It is a well laid out and fairly fast boat and I have enjoyed it tremendously. The bow is flared nicely and has lots of boyancy - a major plus in rough water (I crossed a large lake in January against the wind and 3'+ white caps. The boat didn't dive the waves and tracked well through the slop. I still got drenched, though). I seldom use the front hatch, but it has a large hatch cover and plenty of room. I am 5'10" and about 190#. The cockpit was comfortable. I have room in front of the pedals for random gear and maybe a drink. There is a 8' round hatch just in front of the seat good for snacks and small electronics (think cell phone and GPS or radio). The seat is the best part of the boat. It has a rigid backed seat hinged to the hull - I added a gel pad to the bottom becasue the factory cushion is meager. There is a small, bungee-corded, molded-in addendum to the rear tank well that is perfect for my tackle box. The main rear tank well has more than enough room for a my tackle and a soft sided cooler. The only thing I had to add was an anchor trolly. For the money, it is a rockin' kayak.
