Great. If you're looking for a pedal boat...

I bought the Hobie Mirage Outback and have overall been extremely disappointed with the boat.
I was convinced by quite a few people when telling them I was looking for an easily transportable and stable fishing kayak to go with the Hobie. I was disappointed with the small amount of deck space and the fact that I tipped it over 3 times my first time out fishing. It is a decent boat if you are looking for a kayak to pedal around. But not for fishing which was what I was looking for. I have since purchased a Nucanoe Frontier and it blows this boat out of the water as far as stability and versatility for $700 cheaper. I wish somebody would have told me about the Nucanoe when I asked about a stable and versatile boat made for fishing in the first place. Would have saved me a lot of frustration and money.

Nucanoe Frontier 12'

The Nucanoe Frontier is advertised as being the most stable boat on the market as well as the most versatile. When I purchased my Nucanoe Frontier I was still a bit skeptical. The first time I had the Nucanoe out on the water I was blown away. It is totally unmatched by any other sit on top kayaks I have ever fished out of. I am 6'5" 250 lbs. and I could stand and fish in this boat all day long and never feel the slightest bit unstable or uncomfortable. It is like standing on a platform. Even with the width of the boat, it still paddles unbelievably well. One of the features I like the most about the Nucanoe is the flat transom. You can clamp a trolling motor or small outboard right on the back. I put a 55lb thrust variable speed Minn Kota trolling motor on the back of mine and you can almost ski behind it. Using only one 12 volt battery it lasts me a whole weekend on a charge. Overall I am blown away with the Nucanoe. If you are looking for a stable and versatile kayak for fishing look no further. It is an incredible rig for the price. I ordered mine from Tri-State Trolling Motor and they were very knowledgeable and helpful on customizing options. They rigged mine up with a depth finder and shortened my trolling motor to fit the Nucanoe and shipped it right to my door.
