Sep 14, 2010 – EASLEY, S.C. – Confluence Watersports brands Dagger and Wilderness Systems each garnered a Canoe & Kayak Magazine Reader’s Choice Award.

Announced as the “First Annual Reader’s Choice Awards”, the magazine invited subscribers and online readers to vote for their favorite paddling brands, products and people through an online survey. In total, 3,600 Canoe & Kayak readers voted in less than 30 days.

Confluence Watersports is honored to have received the following two Canoe & Kayak Reader’s Choice Awards:

•   Best New Fishing Kayak: Wilderness Systems Commander 140
•   Best New Recreational Touring (sit inside): Dagger Axis

“We’re thrilled to receive two Reader’s Choice Awards from Canoe & Kayak in its inaugural year—especially for boats that are new to the market,” said Sue Rechner, CEO of Confluence Watersports.  “It’s truly an honor and inspires us to keep making great boats for people who love to paddle.”

The Wilderness Systems Commander Series has quickly become the ultimate hobby kayak since the innovative sit-on-top/sit-inside design was released in 2010. For the rapidly growing kayak fishing market to photographers or casual paddlers, the versatile design, dual seating positions, and modular SlideTrax™ outfitting system has been widely acclaimed. The Commander Series expands in 2011 with the Commander 140, with even more storage space, leg room, capacity, and speed.

The Dagger Axis has broken the bounds of what is possible in a recreational kayak. The Axis is perfect for the paddler who appreciates a relaxing day trip on the lake, but offers adventure-grade performance capabilities for the challenge of a running river or even beginner rapids, all in one exciting package.

Canoe & Kayak Magazine will publish the Reader’s Choice Awards in the December 2010 issue and is already online at www.canoekayakmagazine.com.
