I picked up a new Wilderness Systems Ride 115 from Appomattox River Company the other day and headed over to Yakattack's shop to do a little rigging. I was really looking forward to tossing ideas back and forth with Luther - when you get two gear heads together you never know what you will come up with. Being that I mostly fish rivers I didn't want to do a bunch of rigging just for the sake of rigging. The last thing I need is a bunch of unnecessary stuff on my kayak.

The Ride 115 is a very stable boat, but it can be a little tough to get from the seated position to the standing position. We installed a Mighty Mount using the rigging plate on the center console. Now I can attach a tether to the RAM ball to assist when moving to the standing position. I can also attach a rod holder, GPS mount, depth finder or anything for that matter. Due to the SlideTrax I didn't need to do anything else to the bow except attach a Panfish Portrait to it.

Next I wanted to setup something that would enable me to get multiple angles for filming. I decided to put an eight inch GearTrac behind each seat and a flush mount rod holder directly behind it.  Most people put the flush mount rod holder directly behind the seat; by moving it back I'm able to place a rod or net in the rod holder and it will not get in the way of my GoPro HD when I'm trying to film.

Here is another shot of the Gear Track and flush mount rod holder. You can also see the smaller ParkNPole in the paddle holder. It fits perfectly! Almost like Wilderness Systems made the recessed holder for the ParkNPole.

Luther and I decided to make a custom lid for my crate. I'm very pleased with how well it  turned out. I doubt I will see many like it!

Above you can see how I used a Dog Bone and two RAM double socket arms to mount my Go Pro HD. You can also see the bottom of my PanFish mounted on the GearTrac on top of my crate.

I couldn't of asked for better weather this St. Patrick's Day weekend. I took out my new Ride 115 to try out the rigging we had done. No monsters were caught, but I'm very pleased with all the camera angles I will get to play with this year!

The PanFish Portrait is perfect way to get a hero shot when you are fishing alone.  It only took me a few minutes to set up a shot of this chunky 5lb largemouth.
