Stop Hitting Yourself!..With Bungee cord, that is. |

Top USA kayak manufacturer Malibu Kayaks is pleased to announce the release of their upgraded 'bungee shock cord cleat'. Currently standard on all recreational and fishing kayak models, the shock cord cleat is a staple in the kayak storage world. Unfortunately, so is the painful sting of snapping it against your arm a-la big brother with a rubber band. The design team for Malibu Kayaks decided to address the issue by widening the overhead hood to better secure the cord from all angles. The new design also comes with two indentations on opposite sides to easier secure or loosen the screw attachment from the base, which is molded into the kayak. While the diameter has increased from 0.76" to a solid 1", the price point and item numbers will remain the same. Dealers and consumers can expect to see the changes on all newly released 2014 models, and can begin ordering the cleats for older models as soon as early November 2013. A representative for the company commented by stating, "We are proud to be one of the few companies to regularly release new models and designs, but we also like to focus on perfecting what's already there. Through our own recreational kayaking and the experiences of others, we were able to determine a way to make the adventure a bit more enjoyable, and hopefully, easier." The cleats can be ordered through the Malibu Kayaks website at http://www.malibukayaks.com/gear/hardware/nylon-shock-cord-cleat.html or through a verified dealer www.malibukayaks.com/dealers.
