St. Croix's New Trout Series Rods Deliver Park Falls, WI (June 21, 2013) – St. Croix's all-new series of trout spinning rods feature crisp, controlled actions and plenty of backbone to handle larger fish. Built on blanks rolled from a blend of premium-quality SCII graphite and high-modulus/high-strain SCVI graphite, the new trout rods are lightweight, strong and sensitive. Created specifically for trout anglers who fish streams and lakes with spinners and other lures, the five rod series features lengths from 5'4"-7', all 2-piece designs except the shortest model. Each new Trout Series rod is equipped with a premium-grade cork handle and a Pac Bay Minima reel seat fitted with a custom insert for enhanced sensitivity and comfort. Pac Bay Minima guides provide added sensitivity with a 20 - 30% reduction in weight compared to guides with ceramic rings. All thread wraps are protected by two coats of Flex Coat slow-cure finish for exceptional durability. "St. Croix introduced the first ultra-light spinning rod in the early 1950's", explained Jeff Schluter, St. Croix's Vice President of Sales and Marketing. "It was made of fiberglass and created an entirely new category of trout rods. Now, over 50 years later, we're launching the Trout Series rods that are as revolutionary today as our original ultra-lights were back then." The new Trout Series is designed and engineered in Park Falls, Wisconsin and handcrafted in St. Croix's manufacturing facility in Fresnillo, Mexico. They come with a 5-year warranty backed by St. Croix Superstar Service. Retail prices range from $110-$130.
