Springfield, MO ---April 9, 2010---Bass Pro Shops, the world’s leading retailer of outdoor gear, has partnered with professional kayak angler Drew Gregory’s Deep Creek Ventures to become the headline sponsor and host of “The 2010 River Bassin Tournament Trail Presented by Bass Pro Shops.”

The unique catch-photo-release, paddle powered watercraft, tournament trail will be comprised of five tournaments near five different Bass Pro Shops store locations.  Anglers will fish nearby rivers of their choice and take photos of their catch on a ruler device, and then bring back their cameras to the Bass Pro Shops location where a slide show “results show” will take place with prizes awarded in 3 divisions – Avid Angler, Casual Angler and Young River Bassers. Prizes include Bass Pro Shops gift cards and the new Bass Pro Shops Ascend Kayaks. The avid angler division will feature a River Basser of the Year grand prize worth over $15,000.

Tournament dates are: • Atlanta, GA – May 1st • Knoxville, TN – May 22nd • Birmingham, AL – June 5th • Charlotte, NC – June 26th • Macon, GA – July 10th

More information about the tournament can be found on www.RiverBassinTrail.com.
“As a former Bass Pro Shops associate in college I’ve always known that Bass Pro is on the forefront of innovation in the fishing industry,” stated Gregory.  “We’re looking forward to putting on these exciting events in their stores starting May 1st in Atlanta.”
Anglers can begin registering online. Anglers who pre-register will receive a gift package valued at more than the registration fee while supplies last.
.A portion of money raised during the tournaments will go to the ALS Association to help with their fight against Lou Gehrig’s Disease.
