My name is Brandon Beversdorf. I am a Transport Respiratory Therapist for a children's hospital during the day and an avid kayak fisherman the rest of the time. I'm a native Texan from the panhandle where I grew up fishing the few lakes we have up in that part of the state. I got hooked into canoeing and kayaking the San Marcos River while in college and that began my foray into the sport of kayak fishing. I live in Austin, TX and thoroughly enjoy being near so many beautiful bodies of water. I am first and foremost a river kayak fisherman. I do enjoy the inland lakes and the Texas coast as well, but my passion is paddling on our beautiful Texas rivers. I paddle rivers specifically because you are targeting fish that live their entire lives in current. Pound-for-pound these fish will fight harder than lake fish. My personal quest is to kayak-fish every major Texas river. I am only about a third of the way through, and it is a lesson in logistics, travel, and being able to adapt to the different "personalities" that each river contains. Brandon Beversdorf |
