Report: Things were heating up nicely the past few weeks with unusually warm weather, which brought out the boats a bit early this year. We have had a few waves of cold weather and snow lately so things have slowed a bit. March came in like a lamb and is leaving us like a lion! We have had the yaks out on the lakes fishing for Largemouth Bass, Panfish and Cats. The Walleye spawn is on and limits were taken just last week at area lakes. The Wiper (striper hybrid) action in the southern Kansas area has been excellent. Trout are still being stocked in several Nebraska lakes in March. We are expecting some great fishing this Spring. Kayak fishing is really picking up in the central states. If you want to access those hard to fish spots the kayak will get you there. The catfish have already headed up to the lake shallows feeding on Shad and are easily caught from the kayak on area lakes. Using Shad gizzards, Shad sides, or shrimp will most certainly catch you a nice Channel Catfish. The Wipers will be feeding along those sunny shorelines as well. Those farm ponds with the big bass and panfish are really going to be some choice places any day!
