Report: The 1st cold fronts have come thru Miami last week...this chilled the water down and the bite went with it for a few days...before that time, such as Thanksgiving weekend and right up to the front the big news here for me is PERMIT... the permit are coming out of everywhere on calm mornings...it’s nothing to see 100 a day on good day and even more if you really tried hard...small ones go about 15 lbs. I would say and most are in the 25lb range right now...some are nasty big and several had customers afraid to cast...this week has seen a huge amount just like before the fronts came...the water has warmed back up and the winds are keeping temp nice and humid...the bite has been tough and nobody has hooked up yet...remember that all have used flies and not bait....bait is slam dunk...many dives and many looks by the permit and complete knee buckling from customers making the shot...yesterday I had the best day chasing then I have ever been part of...they were falling from the sky for 5 hrs non stop...over 25 shots taken at 30ft or less...hoping the weather will hold

By the time I do the next report I should have my FREEDOM HAWK KAYAKS here and ready to go....one of each model...that will add a measure of stability for deep water drifting for permit right now as well...also I will be immediately working on filming a pilot episode and maybe more for a production company here in Florida...you can see the layout of the show on their site  www.PasMediaInc.com

I expect the weather to be good until Jan before the cold and winds hit hard again....this should bring the redfish bite for me here...winter tides are much better than fall and high water will not be an issue for months...also I expect the snook bite to be there...we shall see.
