So as not to let this thread die into oblivion without a status update, I thought I'd share some pics from my experience. Before that I'd like to pay special thenaks to Krash foor all his help along with the help of another gentleman whose name I forget , but must have gotten my number from Krash as well as the guys at the bait shop on the way to Dania Beach on 822(?).
The fishing was phenomenal from day 3 on as the first 2 days had winds blowing and rough surf. All fish were caught on Rap-X or Yo-zuri. No bait was used. I prefer the troll. The following pics were out front of the condo on the Atlantic. Caught as many as 20 in a 2 hour period time. The first is my first Snook (i believe) and the rest are Snappers (I believe) It was odd catching fish I'd never before seen nor caught. All were released to swim another day. |

Well I might just have hooked into one. I will never know, but went to visit a friend in Islamorada and on the way back went via Card Sound and launched into the mangroves. Was catching many small toothy barracudas, but then when I put my rod in its holder to put in a dip my rod doubled over peeling line like crazy. I grabbed it out of the holder and held on for dear life as whatever it was pulled my backwards against the current. All I could feel was tail thrusts and then nothing. At least I got my lure back after all the ones I lost up in Hallandale. Here's some pics of the trip.
