Default How to attach external battery box?

Hi ya'll,
Well marine goop worked super to attach my transducer to the inside of my older OK Drifter, but refused to adhere to the Lexan box (for the battery) I bought at Walley World. I had hoped to anchor it just behind the seat in the storage area there. It never set up. so, I'm left with two holes from "well nuts" which pulled out, and the hole for the power leads. Any ideas for a water tight seal between the box and the yak? At this point, I thinking of the foam insulating sealer in the can which is famous for sticking doors by expanding the jams.... held to my yak by molly bolts, since the "well nuts' were a joke! Any input from those of you who have been here before would be cherished!
Thanks ya'll
Wilson

Go to Lowe's and get some plastic plugs in the hardware department and glue them in.

Thanks,
I was wondering if anybody was really there! What I ended up doing was using toggle bolts (with stainless machine screws) from Lowes small enough to fit through the holes I drilled for the well nuts and 100% GE silicone. After trying it out out this weekend at Topsail Island (The surf won my first attempt and second, but I made it past the breakers the third try!) the seal proved leakless!
Later, in the sound, the fish finder install proved to be successful also. After my thrashing in the surf, I have come to realize the wisdom summed up "learn to kayak before you fish in one" This isn't the kayak I paddled in the Natahaila 30 years ago, but maybe an old dog can learn a new trick! Still time to practice before Hatteras in Oct.
Can you recommend any spots? I'm in the Wilmington area 3 or 4 times a summer and spend a week at Topsail each summer.

The best stuff is G-Flex. West Marine carries it. It adheres to plastic and right on the packaging says kayaks. It works great. I've been using it for 1.5 years, ever since Chris turned me onto it. I even wrote an article for the magazine several issues back. Every kayak anglers should keep some of it around. I use mine all the time.

Thanks for the tip on the G-Flex. Didn't know about that one, i've been getting frustrated with the Marine Goop.
