Touring Kayak Fishing This is a forum dedicated to fisherpeople who use a touring kayak as their vessel of choice. There are many reasons but mostly because the kayaks are very efficient in both their range and carrying capacity. It is a unique aspect of the sport.

I'm sure the CLC boat is stable compared to some, but my experience in kayaks has been very limited. The only other boats I've used have all been SOT which are generally extremely stable. Kind of like comparing apples and oranges I guess.
I'm embarrassed to say I haven't really tried doing any rolls yet. It's something I've been wanting to practice for a while, but just can't seem to find time. I do carry a pump and a float though. Built the thing a year before our son (first kid) was born so time on the water has been short and sweet lately. I carry a 7ah battery on the floor in the forward hatch. It does help lower the bow a little in the water, and that seems to help with the wind pushing me around less. I think I'll try loading it up with some weight one day and see how it feels.
