A long waterline, a tidy beam and the ability to quickly cover ground typify the Hobie Adventure experience.

This long, lean touring kayak allows you to fly through the water, and its deck's carefully positioned features, such as molded-in drink holders and mesh-covered stowage pockets, ensure a comfortable ride. New-model-year upgrades, such as a new rudder control and better lifting handles (compliments of the Tandem Island) make the boat even more of a pleasure to use, both on and off the water. The Adventure's speed, range, ample storage space and ease-of-use will open up a new world of touring possibilities.

USS Adventure - My Pocket Battleship!

I bought this kayak back in late 2010 as the base unit for the Adventure Island. Started out sailing the AI (excellent indeed) and finally started taking the Adventure out fishing in pure kayak mode. What a great boat. Loves big water. Very low wind profile. Stays true to course with little, if any bow steering affect even in whitecaps. You're still trolling while the other kayaks are hugging shore or hiding in coves. It cuts through water vs bobbing and weaving like other boats. Don't let that 27.5 inch width concern you. It's much more stable than it looks. Make sure you get the sailing rudder and turbo fins to maximize the performance of this impressive boat. The only minor negative is the turning radius in smaller, enclosed water like flooded trees etc. You might have to use your paddle a little more in tight water. That's not a dig on the unit because in the big picture this boat will simply BEAM YOU to distant fishing spots that you wouldn't have considered with other, less capable kayaks. I love it!

Hobie Adventure is a rocket of a SOT

Fastest SOT polyethylene kayak on the market period. The adventures ability to break through the waves and to cruise at high speeds to overcome winds/currents cannot be overstated. I take my adventure trolling for trout and it takes so little effort to maintain a trolling speed.

My only complaint is that the adventure could use a little bit more rocker and flare in the bow. It tends to veer to one side or "tent pole" in the surf. Thigh straps helps a lot for bracing but a bit of rocker make things easier.

If you are looking for a long range fishing kayak look no further!

Adventure

I use my adventure in the ocean most of the time. It is very stable. I have it rigged for fishing. It is long at 16 feet.

Adventure Equals Deep Water Fishing

The Adventure, and it's other configuartions, is a fast deep water yak.

With the Mirage Drive she handles wind and chop with ease. It's not a
dry ride, but then what yak is in heavy weather.

Initial stability is good, secondary great. At 16 feet one of the longest yaks around. This translates into speed, and ease of effort to keep her moving. Get the large sailing rudder even if you don't sail. It improves handling and reduces your turning radius. Speaking of sailing the add on small sail with Sidekick and ama is a great package. While your speed is considerably less than The Adventure Island it's good enough to give you a boost on long trolling trips, and you can beat to windward if caught out. If you have winds that can surprise you of 20+ knots, you'll want to consider the Adventure Island configuration. Besides handling heavier stuff this baby can get you out to Hawaii FADs,Texas Oil wells, and off shore structure while trolling for large fish like pelagics.

Adventure with my Hobie Adventure

This kayak is a rocket in the water. I use my turbo fins and get up to almost 8 mph. I sometimes paddle it when my knee hurts and it is a great paddling craft. I find it stable but I know some people wnat more kayak width but fine for me at 200 lbs.
