Kayak Fishing Magazine: Question of the Month November

Todd, Standing while site fishing is very important, some kayaks are much better suited for standing, not only is stability important but how the deck allows you to place your feet is crucial in maintaining your balance. One kayak that is one of the favorites for standing is the Heritage Redfish, it have a nice flat area for your feet and has a flat a hull shape that is very stable. Standing on a kayak is like anything else and you will get better with practice. Another option is to get one of the outrigger systems that attach to your kayak and when deployed will give you all the stability you will need to stand, fish and dance if you like. Most notably are the systems by Hobie (sidekick) and Scotty.
