For a lot of us our kayaks and gear is packed away and waiting for warmer days. Sure there are the lucky ones in warmer climates whose kayaks never see an extended rest. I always refer to the new season as starting in Spring and I can’t help but be excited about the sport and all the great events being planned for the new season. The Kayak Fishing Magazine hopes to step it up in the 2008 and really cover the sport and the people who are making it happen. The magazine aims to be keep you up to speed on everything kayak fishing, like tournaments, destinations, gear, product reviews, streaming videos and interviews with the standout individuals in the kayak fishing community.
I am blown away when I see the progression of the sport worldwide and all the different species that are being chased with a kayak. We are hoping to cover the sport not just nationally but all over the globe and with any luck maybe I can go on a few of these trips to exotic places. Every time I turn around I see there is another scheduled kayak fishing tournament and it is great to see the kayak companies gives some generously to them. These events are usually for great causes, unite kayak fisherman and promote the sport.
Unlike some of the great print kayak fishing publications out there, an online magazine like KFM will keep you up to date with what is new and exciting with the sport much frequently. We also will bring you exciting kayak fishing videos and nothing is more blood pumping then seeing the sport in this medium.
My hope for the coming year is that others who want to be part of this magazine will step forward and bring their talents and ideas and make this publication as good as I know it can be.
